The Lord said to me, “Go and stand in my house and proclaim this message. The shepherd I have sent have led my people astray. From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain. Prophets and priests alike are practicing deceit. They dress the wounds of my people as though it were not serious. I command you and send you as a Prophet unto the Nations to go and call my people back to me,” says the Lord. “Go and tell them to return to me because the days are coming,” declare the Lord, “when my voice shall be heard by nations, as I announce the time of restoration of my people and now is the time. I shall gather the outcast, the lame, the rejected, and the despised and make them into the strong nations. My House shall be called a House of Restoration.
I am He, Jesus Christ, whom they crucified, but see, now I am risen and live forevermore. I am He that shall restore the outcasts, the lame and the lowly in state into a strong nation. The nations shall know that I am the Alpha and Omega and I am the Restorer.I will use you mightily to raise the standard of my Righteousness and Holiness before kings and governors of the nations, and you shall be called the Preacher of Righteousness. I will use you to root out and pull down, to build and to plant. Many mighty signs and wonders I will perform through you, and the fear of God will again return unto the nations.
To boldly preach and proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom of God in season and out of season and wait to see the harvest of millions of souls coming to Christ, by planting churches in every city, nation, and unto the ends of the earth.
To be instruments of God as He establishes a church modeled according to the first church in the book of Acts (being, in one accord, prayerful, fellowshipping in the breaking of bread, healing of the sick, feeding and clothing the hungry and the poor, and preaching the gospel unto the nations)
To pray for the revival across the world for the fire of god to fall upon His people.
To be a hearing and doing Church, living the Word of God to the fullest.
In 2008, Thomas Tirivangani, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was led to start the church with just 4 people: his wife, Colline, sons Blessing and Thomas Jr, and himself in the cradle of their small apartment at 301, 15 Albright Rd.
749A Barton Street (Store Front).
As the congregation grew, the church then moved to 429 Barton Street E. and operated the Seed of Faith Thrift Store, as well as a food and clothing bank.
Then in 2013, after much prayer, perseverance, and faith, the current location at 200 Sanford Avenue was acquired. The church has prophetically been positioned, located in the most dangerous and poorest part of Hamilton, to bring a major revival of our generation. Testimonies are increasing. Many people have started coming from other cities, provinces, and from other countries to see the light."
The church was built in 1906 to house what was then Barton Street Methodist Church, a congregation that formed in 1889, said local historian Margaret Houghton. It was renamed Livingston Methodist Church in 1916 after Minister Henry Livingston, and in 1927, became Livingston United Church.
That church closed in 1999 and its congregation was absorbed into Centenary United Church, Houghton said. The building became the Korean Presbyterian Church.
In 2013, Christ’s Voice of Restoration Ministries under the direction of Tom Tirivangani, moved in to the building unto Present.
Firefighters are in the final stages of extinguishing a multi- alarm fire
at church at Barton and Sanford.
Crews were called to the Christs Voice of Restoration Ministries Church on January 21, 2014, around 12:30pm. They're still trying to put out remaining areas burning, said spokes spokesperson Claudio Mostacci.
There were six people in the church at the time — five volunteers and pastor Tom Tirivangani. All six escaped safely, Tirivangani told CBC Hamilton.
But the church has a food and clothing bank for those in need, and the fire started near where the donations are kept, he said. “We are concerned about the donations,” he said. He’s also concerned about the expense the fire could inflict on the non-denominational church, which Tirivangani says is similar to the Pentecostal faith. It has a little over 100 members. “This is a terrible day for us,” he said. “It’s sad. “We don’t know what damage has been done, or what repairs we’ll have to make, or what we’ll have to do to get back on course.”
Adil Firid works at the Busy Bee convenience store across the street. He saw people from the church come into the store, presumably to get warm, he said. Otherwise, he only knew about the fire from the sound of fire trucks.
Fourteen trucks were called to the fire, which started in the southeast corner of the building, Mostacci said. The church has been renovated several times, which means there are false walls that make it hard to get at all the flames, he said. Crews have closed Barton Street between Wentworth and Westinghouse. As of 3 p.m., the streets were still closed, and while firefighters were closer to extinguishing the fire, it was not completely out, Mostacci said.
Tirivangani said he's waiting, but hasn't been able to get back into the building to survey the damage.
